Uromodulin as a potential candidate marker for predicting the course of chronic kidney disease

چکیده

Uromodulin is a nephrospecific protein that most common in normal urine. And although it has been known for more than 70 years, the function of uromodulin remains unclear. involved regulating transport salts, protects against urinary tract infections, namely, mucous membrane bladder, and prevents formation kidney stones, as well plays role damage innate immunity. Serum urine, daily excretion per 1 milliliter creatinine clearance are actively studied. Complete genome studies association have established correlation between gene mutations autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial disease.

Uromodulin and Chronic Kidney Disease

Uromodulin (Tamm-Horsfall protein) is produced in the kidney by cells of the thick ascending limb and distal tubule. Recent genetic studies suggest a role of uromodulin in chronic kidney disease. Mutations in the UMOD gene cause uromodulin storage disease. They code for amino acid substitutions that lead to misfolding of the molecule and its retention in the endoplasmic reticulum. Single nucleo...

Uromodulin Levels in Chronic Kidney Disease

Objectives: Uromodulin is a protein exclusively produced by Kidney in tubular cells lining thick ascending limb (TAL) of the loop of Henle. It has been linked to water electrolyte balance, protective role against urinary tract infections and renal stone formation. To analyse its trend in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), its levels were analysed in serum and urine of patients at different stages of...
